whistle blower acts

whistle blower acts
Federal and state statutes designed to protect employees from retaliation for a disclosure of an employer's misconduct. The Civil Service Reform Act, 5 U.S.C.A. No. 2302(b), protects federal employees who disclose mismanagement or illegal conduct. Several other federal laws protect employees who disclose regulatory violations; e.g. OSHA violations, 29 U.S.C.A. No. 660(c). Many states also protect private and/or public sector whistle-blowers.
Cf. California Labor Code No. 1102.5.
